CAN I MAKE DUPLICATIONS OF MULTIPLE CD AND DVD MASTER DISCS AT THE SAME TIME?
No. A duplicator can only copy one master disc at a time onto its available burner(s).
WHAT IS M-DISC?
As opposed to light-sensitive organic dye use in standard CD, DVD, and less expensive BD (Blu-ray) discs, M-DISC is more stable, less corruptible, and is said to last ten times longer (up to a 1000 years) due to its resilient optical disc format that uses a rock-like non-volatile data layer. The technology is specifically designed to "etch" permanent data onto M-DISC media from an M-DISC writer or burner. M-DISC claims their discs are designed to protect your photo, video, music, and document data from degradation and loss for centuries whereas hard drives, flash drives, and other writable media can lose data.
DO I NEED A COMPUTER TO USE WITH THE DUPLICATOR? OR IS IT STANDALONE?
No. A computer is not required. Our duplicators are standalone, meaning they do not need a computer or software to operate. Turn on the duplicator, wait until it boots up, insert your master disc and your blank discs, and press ENT on the designated 1. Copy function. It's that easy!
DOES MY DUPLICATOR COME WITH A WARRANTY?
Yes. Although the warranty varies depending on the model, most of our duplicators have a standard 1 year warranty on parts, 3 year warranty on labor, and lifetime technical support. The manufacturer will provide all services if needed. Check the product specifications to view more exact warranty information.
WHAT IS THE ENT BUTTON? WHAT IS THE ESC BUTTON? WHAT ACTIONS DO THEY PERFORM?
The ENT button moves forward into a menu or submenu function. It's almost like an OK button that executes a function. The ESC button is to go back a menu or submenu function of your duplicator.
I BOUGHT SOME DVD AND BLU-RAY MOVIES FROM A STORE. CAN I MAKE COPIES OF THEM USING A DVD OR BLU-RAY DUPLICATOR?

I WANT TO BACK UP MY PLAYSTATION GAMES AND XBOX GAMES I BOUGHT FROM A STORE. CAN I COPY THEM ON MY DUPLICATOR?

CAN A DVD DUPLICATOR COPY A CD I MADE?
Yes. DVD duplicators can copy CD discs along with DVD discs.
CAN YOUR DUPLICATOR COPY A CD TO A DVD OR VICE VERSA?
No. One format cannot duplicate to a different format. For example, CD discs can only be duplicated to CD, and DVD discs to DVD.
CAN A DVD DUPLICATOR COPY A CD+G FORMAT DISC?
No. Our DVD duplicators do not have a feature available for duplicating CD+G formatted discs. A CD+G duplicator will need to be ordered to copy CD+G discs.
IS THE DUPLICATOR COMPATIBLE WITH MASTER DISCS CREATED ON A MAC COMPUTER?
Yes.
CAN I MAKE DUPLICATIONS OF MULTIPLE CD AND DVD MASTER DISCS AT THE SAME TIME?
No. A duplicator can only copy one master disc at a time onto its available burner(s)
WILL MY DVD DUPLICATOR MAKE COPIES IN PAL FORMAT?
Yes. Our duplicators will duplicate PAL and NTSC DVD video format. But please be aware that your copies will be in the same format as the master disc. For example, if your master DVD is in PAL format, your duplicated DVD discs will also be in PAL format. The same applies for NTSC. Our duplicators will not convert formats for you.
HOW CAN I CHECK ON MY DUPLICATOR IF MY BURNED COPIES ARE ACCURATE?
The Compare function available on your duplicator performs a bit-by-bit data comparison of your original master disc to the burned copies. This function tests and ensures the duplicated discs are 100% exactly the same copy of the original. If there is a problem during duplication, the duplicator will display on the LCD controller screen that there was a failure, the failed discs will stay in their burner drives, and the successfully burned discs will eventually eject out of their trays.
CAN BUSINESS CARD SIZE CD OR MINI CD DISCS BE USED ON THE DUPLICATOR?
Yes.
IF I HAVE A 7 DISC DUPLICATOR, DO I HAVE TO BURN 7 DISCS EVERY DUPLICATION RUN?
No. You do not have to burn the maximum number of discs every session. You can just fill up 1 burner if you want; filling up all the burners is not required.
CAN I CHANGE THE DVD BURN SPEED OF THE DUPLICATOR?
Yes. Users can change the burn speed of their duplicator but we already preset the duplicator at an optimal speed during assembly and testing. For DVD burning, we normally do not recommend our customers to increase the burn speed from its original 8x setting. Why? DVD blank discs have peaked at 16x maximum burn speed rating. From our extensive in-house testing, we learned not all blank DVDs burn at their true advertised max speed rating and discovered 8x to be the most optimal speed for blank DVD 16x rated discs.
MY BLANK DVD DISCS ARE RATED AT 8X MAXIMUM BURN SPEED RATING. SHOULD I CHANGE THE DVD BURN SPEED OF MY DUPLICATOR?
Yes. Many disc manufacturers do not produce discs to burn at their true advertised speeds. We highly suggest you lower the burn speed by half of what is advertised on the blank media. So, if your blank DVD says 8x max, drop the duplicator DVD burn speed to 4x.
WHAT SPEEDS SETTINGS DO YOU RECOMMEND ON THE DUPLICATOR?
Our optimal settings are the following:
Read speed:
CD
DVD 8x
DVD DL 4x
BD 2x
Burn speed:
CD 24x
Audio CD 24x
DVD 8x
DVD DL 4x
BD 2x
Please be aware that your burn speeds highly depend on the speed rating of your blank discs. For example, if your blank DVD burn speed rating is at 16x, we do not recommend you going higher than 8x.
Why? DVD blank discs have peaked at 16x maximum burn speed rating. From our extensive in-house testing, we learned not all blank DVDs burn at their true advertised max speed rating and discovered 8x to be the most optimal speed for blank DVD 16x rated discs.
A rule of thumb for experiencing optimal speeds is to burn at half the speed of what the blank DVD disc manufacturer claims is their advertised maximum burn speed. You will find these speed ratings detailed on the packaging of your blank media packs or spindles and sometimes on top of the actual blank discs themselves. So, if your blank DVD says 8x max, drop the duplicator DVD burn speed to 4x.
CD blanks have peaked at 52x for decades. Our in-house testing has proved, however, that 24x is the most optimal speed to burn CD blanks at.
